Do you think you could do some sort of a hora/jig to start off our
celebration? One of our questions when we first met with Michael
Benson. No problem the reply. Not only was it not a problem, it
was one of the most memorable, most talked-about aspects of our
wedding. The Michael Benson Band pulled this ethnic dance melee
hoedown off with skill, energy and know-how. The rest of the music of
the night ran the gamut, (from the ceremony through cocktail hour to
the reception) with many other masterful highlights showcasing the
band’s breadth and talent. Many of our guests from New York, London
and other parts of the globe raved about the band, and were more than
impressed. They wished they could have that kind of wedding-band
experience at every reception they went to, and so do we. The Michael

Deciding to make the investment and book the Michael Benson Band was by far the best money we spent. Our big day would not have been complete without them. They are hands down, the best wedding band I have seen, and absolutely great to work with. So versatile in all genres, they know how to keep the crowd dancing! We were lucky enough to hear the Michael Benson Band play a wedding reception at the Seattle Golf Club and were completely blown away! The amount of energy they brought to the venue was impressive, but so was the masterful pacing and sheer variety of music they performed at such a high level. Usually a shy dancer, I was the one leading my partner to the dance floor. The band completely made the night, and we left with their music stuck in our heads for the next couple of weeks. - Chris & Valerie

Simply amazing and fun to work with, Michael has a wealth of musical knowledge and a gift to perform. We received numerous recommendations about the Michael Benson Band. Hiring them was one of our best decisions. Deborah’s family is Taiwanese and during one of our first meetings, Michael mentioned he could sing a Chinese folk song for them. During the reception, while thanking the family, we heard the first beats of the song. Everyone loved it and couldn’t believe Michael was singing in Mandarin! It was a wonderful surprise for them and one of the best highlights of the night that everyone is still talking about. The band also played a custom song specifically for Justin (the Indiana Jones theme) for our grand entrance. Throughout the night we heard many complements from our guests about how amazing this band was. Don’t hesitate. Hire them. We promise you won’t regret it!

I could not let any more time go by without sending you a note of our sincere thanks and appreciation to you and your incredibly talented band. Both families had to travel from many places including the east coast of the US, and as far away as the UK and Hawaii. Coming from Vancouver BC we were probably the nearest! For the guests who were there, it was not only a destination. They also have been to many weddings all over the world. Just about everyone was saying how absolutely amazed they were by you and the band and the energy it created.
Our sincere thanks once again and hopefully we will have a chance to meet on another occasion one day.

If you want the very best band — anywhere, bring in the Michael Benson Band! Michael’s a joy to plan with, plays anything in any key, senses the crowd and has all ages on their feet all evening… the music just flows. They handled spontaneous moments with ease, like a guest wanting to sing, then suprising the host with birthday cake. In short, Michael and the band made our aniversary party! Guests are still raving about them – and these guests are world travelers. Thanks again, Michael – you’re the best!

Winning this award together with my world-class musicians has been a real honor since 2004. Almost as sweet as hitting it every night, as we do, like there’s no tomorrow! Michael Benson and his band is by far the most awesome, fun, enthusiastic, best sounding band I have ever experienced in my life. I’ve had the pleasure of working with the Michael Benson Band for 15+ years now and I can honestly say they are FABULOUS! True professionals in every way. They always show up early and are totally prepared with any special requests. They can read the crowd like nobody’s business and always keep the dance floor packed. One of the best memories I have about the band is when Michael sang at a church ceremony and then his band played later at the reception. The band was in the middle of a hip hop song by Usher (which sounded exactly like the real thing) and a groomsman came up to me and said “Isn’t that the same dude that was just singing “Ave Maria” in the church a few hours ago? These guys are awesome!” This is a true testament to their versatility. They are hands down, my first choice of a band when a client is looking for a live group. I highly recommend them.
