FULL BIOGRAPHY
Born and raised in Carlisle, PA, Michael Eads began playing guitar professionally at the age of thirteen. His education includes degrees and study at Penn State Univ., Berklee College of Music, and The Musician’s Institute in Los Angeles.
He has backed many notable artists including The Temptations, Smokey Robinson, Diana Ross and The Supremes, Sam and Dave, Wilson Pickett, Patti LaBelle, Little Anthony, The Delfonics, The Intruders, The Coasters, The Drifters, The Righteous Bros., Connie Stevens, Fabian, Frankie Avalon, Del Shannon, Mitzi Gaynor, Perry Como, Bob Hope, Connie Stevens, and Jim Stafford, as well as Smooth Jazz artists Dan Siegel and Jeff Kashiwa. He was also guitarist/Music Director for The Platters for three years.
His television appearances include The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, 5 years as guitarist/Asst. Music Director on KING 5 TV’s “Almost Live”, and guitarist/Music Director on KING 5 TV’s “Tracy & Co.” His theatre performances include the Las Vegas production of “Legends in Concert”, “Reflections of Motown”, as well as “Jesus Christ Superstar” at Ford’s Theatre in Wash., DC.
Michael has done extensive studio work and also spent time in radio as Music Director/Mid-Day, On-Air host for Smooth Jazz 98.9 KWJZ, and as on-call host at NPR’s 88.5 KPLU.
Michael’s role as lead guitarist with the Michael Benson Band began in 1992.
